Montana man gets up to 20 years in prison for involvement in cryptocurrency money laundering

GuShiio.com learned that according to a report on the U.S. Justice website, Montana man Randall V. Rule (73) was found guilty by a federal jury of all charges for participating in a cryptocurrency money laundering conspiracy. In November 2022, Rule and South Carolina man Gregory C. Nysewander is accused of laundering more than $2.4 million through cryptocurrency, involving proceeds of crimes such as counterfeiting scams, commercial email fraud and real estate fraud. The two men forged transaction labels and concealed facts from financial institutions, violating the Bank Secrecy Act. Rule faces up to 20 years in prison for each money-laundering offence and up to 5 years in prison for conspiracy.
