On February 21, GuShiio.comAGI exclusively learned that Xiaohongshu is about to connect to the DeepSeek-R1 open source model, and its AI search product Diandian App will launch in-depth thinking functions and is currently in the internal testing experience stage of new functions.

Xiaohongshu was established in 2013. It is a social and community application product. Users can record life details and share lifestyles through Short Video, pictures and texts, etc. The original slogan was “Mark My Life”.As of June 2024, Xiaohongshu has 320 million monthly active users and 120 million daily active users.

With the removal of the Short Video application and the overseas version of TikTok from the United States in early 2025, Little Red Book has welcomed a wave of new user growth in the United States. According to the latest data from analyst firm Similarweb, on January 16 this year alone, the number of daily active users of Xiaohongshu on iOS and Android devices in the United States soared by nearly 3 million to approximately 3.4 million.

According to QuestMobile data, in December 2024, the monthly active users of Xiaohongshu platform reached 225 million, and the average monthly usage time was 21.22 hours. In the ranking of new media platforms, it surpassed Beili Beili (Station B), second only to Douyin, Fast Hand, Weibo.

At the end of December 2024, Xiaohongshu launched the independent AI search application product Diandian, and internally tested the new search function Diandian in the Xiaohongshu App. Diandian is positioned as a life search assistant, covering vertical life scenarios such as transportation, food recommendations, travel guides, shopping reviews, and interpersonal interactions. It emphasizes the use of timely information and real voices across the network to help users answer problems encountered in daily life., to accurately avoid pits.

Prior to this, Xiaohongshu had launched AI search dialogue assistant Da Vinci and search intelligent assistant Sousou. The difference is that they are only in the internal testing stage, while Diandian has independent apps and Weixin Mini Programs, and its progress outside the station is significantly ahead of that inside the station. This is the first product and promotion form Xiaohongshu tried.

According to the “2024 Little Red Book Search Promotion White Paper” report released by the Xiaohongshu Commercialization Team, as of the end of 2022, 70% of monthly active users on the platform have search behavior, 88% of search behaviors are initiated by users, and 90% of users indicate that their consumption decisions are influenced by the search content of Xiaohongshu, and up to 42% of new users use the search function when using Xiaohongshu on the first day.Therefore, this also explains his enthusiasm for AI search.

As of press time, according to Qimai data, since Diandian App was launched, the total number of downloads of its iOS version in the Apple App Store has been estimated at 200,000, with an average of 2282 downloads in the past 30 days.
