Unlike previous start-up methods that excessively favored insiders in terms of pledge rewards,$IP pledge follows the principle of fair start-up.
Foundations or early contributors will not receive pledge rewards in advance, and no one can receive pledge rewards before the community.
The Story network is still in a singularity period, which is expected to last for about 42 days after the Creation Block (i.e. Block 0) on January 19. Every user is welcome to participate in pledge or entrust pledge. It should be noted that no pledge rewards will be generated during this period, but it provides an opportunity for everyone to decide whether to pledge.
With the emergence of the big bang block, pledge rewards will officially begin. Each block distributes 1.9477989871 $IPs. Based on the block output speed of 3 seconds, approximately 55,555 $IPs will be distributed every day.
Time-weighted pledge model
Pledges are the foundation for the security and sustainability of any Proof-of-Stake blockchain. A well-designed pledge mechanism can not only ensure cybersecurity, but also inspire the right participants to make long-term commitments and ensure that economic incentives are consistent with cybersecurity and mission.
Story’s time-weighted pledge model encourages long-term supporters. The longer the pledge time, the higher the reward you will receive, thereby promoting network stability and realizing the network vision.
Suppose a user chooses to pledge 2,000 $IPs regularly for 90 days, he/she will eventually receive a reward equivalent to pledging 2,200 $IPs. Even if the user extends the pledge time after the initial 90-day period, the reward bonus is still valid.
In order to further enhance network security, lock-up tokens can also be pledged. However, we firmly believe that locked tokens should be treated differently from unlocked tokens, and their reward bonus will be lower, 0.5 times. In addition, these rewards will be locked in for at least 6 months to ensure the community is prioritized.
