Blue Whale News, February 19 (Reporter Zhai Zhichao)Recently, videos about robot police patrols in Shenzhen have appeared on the hot search lists of major social platforms. On December 19, after a field visit, Blue Whale News learned that the video was a test activity of relevant robots being carried out by Shenzhen Public Security Bureau.

According to relevant staff,“It is still in the testing stage, and the robot will not be officially put into patrol use until all indicators meet appropriate standards. rdquo;

On the same day, Blue Whale News reporter also participated in the outdoor measurement of the same robot in Shangcheng Town, Shenzhen, and the robot participating in the test this time was the same model as the above-mentioned patrol robot.

Blue Whale News found that in small streets with large crowds of people, the robot moved steadily, shuttled flexibly in complex road conditions, and greeted people from time to time, showing good adaptability.

“Seeing robots patrolling, it feels particularly cool and full of technology. I think this will not only improve the safety of the city, but also become a new highlight of the ancient city of Nantou and attract more tourists.& rdquo; A Ms. Chen who often exercises in the ancient city of Nantou said.

It is understood that the robot participating in this patrol came from Shenzhen Zhongqing Robot Technology Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Zhongqing Robot), and its humanoid robot PM01 has become a pioneer in this technology’s assistance in policing. This robot is 138 centimeters tall and weighs about 40 kilograms. It has 24 degrees of freedom in its body and can move at a speed of 2m/s. It is equipped with a 320-degree free-rotating motor at its waist, allowing it to perform a large number of difficult movements. It also has natural gait and mechanical gait.

Data shows that Zhongqing Robot was established in October 2023, focusing on general intelligent robots and industry scenario solutions. Less than a year after its establishment, Zhongqing Robot completed the Angel Round and Angel + Round of Financing led by Shangtang Guoxiang Capital and Honghui Fund, with a total amount of nearly 100 million yuan. Hefei Binhu Financial Investment and Xunshang Capital also participated in investment.

Wu Sicheng, manager of the marketing department of Zhongqing Robot, told Blue Whale News that its original idea was to let the robot go out of the room and go outdoors, andShenzhen Public Security also hopes to give robots the identity of robot patrols. Based on this, Zhongqing has carried out pilot work on robot patrols.In the future, it is planned to use the movement of robots to display Shenzhen’s characteristic attractions and landmarks to all parts of the country.

“At present, patrol robots have not yet been officially put into use, but we already have a clear idea.& rdquo;Wu Sicheng said.

Wu Sicheng also said that when the robot’s vision acquisition technology and autonomous navigation obstacle avoidance technology mature, we believe that the public security team will recognize our products, and then continue to cooperate with us to promote robot patrol police to the entire Shenzhen and even the country.& rdquo;

A robot industry researcher told Blue Whale News that technical stability is the primary problem for the comprehensive promotion of robots. In complex outdoor environments, signal interference, equipment failures, etc. may affect the normal operation of robots. rdquo;

After the actual measurement, Wu Sicheng, manager of Zhongqing Robot Marketing Department, accepted an interview with Blue Whale News. The following is a record of the interview, which has been edited and revised:

Blue Whale News: Can you introduce the original intention and background of Zhongqing’s research and development of street patrol robots? Will it be fully paved in Shenzhen in the future?

Wu Sicheng:Our original idea was to let robots go out of the room and move outdoors, and Shenzhen Public Security also hoped to give robots the identity of robot patrolmen. Based on this, we carried out pilot work on robot patrols. In the future, we plan to use the mobility capabilities of robots to display Shenzhen’s characteristic attractions and landmarks across the country

When the robot’s vision acquisition and autonomous navigation obstacle avoidance technology matures, we believe that the public security team will recognize our products and continue to cooperate with us to promote robotic patrol patrols throughout Shenzhen and even the country.

Blue Whale News: Compared with traditional manual patrols, what are the advantages of Zhongqing’s patrol robots?

Wu Sicheng:At present, patrol robots have not yet been officially put into use, but we already have a clear idea. According to official data, robots have strong visual capabilities. Compared with manual auxiliary police who use the naked eye to view the surrounding situation, they can identify more items and information, detect and report abnormalities in a more timely manner.

In addition, the robot can work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, 7 days a week, and 24 hours a day. This is an advantage that cannot be replaced by labor. In the future, we look forward to working closely with the public security team and public security system to promote the implementation of the project and allow robot patrols to play a greater role.

Blue Whale News: There are currently many humanoid robot companies. What are the characteristics of Zhongqing robots?

Wu Sicheng:First of all, we pay close attention to hardware ontology, have deep technical accumulation in motion control algorithms, and are equipped with a strong team of engineers.

Secondly, all joints of our machine adopt a full-stack self-developed mode, which greatly reduces costs. For example, our previous bipedal platform, which sold for 38,500 yuan, and this patrol robot, which currently sells for 88,000 yuan, both benefit from full-stack self-developed technology.

Finally, in terms of strategic planning, we expect robots to not be limited to a single industry, but to serve as a hardware platform equipped with ecology. We invite developers with development capabilities to join and jointly develop various scene-based applications, so that robots can truly enter in the future. Thousands of households and all walks of life.

Blue Whale News: Compared with the humanoid robots of other companies such as Yushu, what are the differences between Zhongqing’s patrol robot products?

Wu Sicheng:In terms of product design, our robots have unique considerations in appearance industrial design, paying more attention to mechanical sense, speed sense and overall industrial design. From the appearance, it has smooth lines and obvious muscle lines. It is like Iron Man, with a sense of technology and power. In terms of development model, Zhongqing Robot adopts an open source model. We look forward to working with more ecological partners in the future to jointly create diversified scenario applications.

The application scenarios are not limited to public security patrols, but will also be expanded to family, business and other fields in the future to give full play to the value of robots. In terms of motion control, Zhongqing Robot is the first company in the world to overcome the problem of natural human gait, because natural human gait is a very difficult problem to solve, just like most robots currently have stomping, bending, bending, etc. when walking, and our humanoid robots can walk with straight knees.
