Blue Whale News, February 28 (Reporter Li Zhuoling)As a polar star car born out of Volvo’s high-performance division, its joint venture company has recently ushered in a new round of adjustments.

On February 28, regarding the news about the layoffs of Jixing Technology, a person related to Jixing Technology revealed to Blue Whale Automobile that Jixing Technology is indeed experiencing a reduction in personnel.“It mainly involves a reduction in channels”。The person also told Blue Whale Automobile that in terms of sales channels,Jixing Technology has adopted a direct sales + dealer agency system. This time, the main impact is direct sales channels. In fact, the reason is still to reduce costs.

In the view of the above-mentioned people, Jixing Technology has a business contraction, but this is a normal phenomenon in the current industry environment and is regarded as a planning adjustment of the group.

“At present, Jixing Technology is operating normally as a whole, but it will shrink its business. Some stores with poor sales will close. Some people involved in sales, marketing, operations and other departments have left one after another. The after-sales team still maintains normal operation because it has to maintain old car owners. rdquo;According to the above-mentioned person, there were about 30 to 40 Jixing Technology stores previously, and some have been closed recently, especially those with poor sales in supermarkets. After all, supermarket stores (rent) are relatively expensive.

Regarding the above-mentioned rumors of layoffs, Jixing Technology responded to Blue Whale Automobile on the evening of February 28, saying that as a joint venture between Jixing Automobile and Xingji Meizu, Jixing Technology is currently operating normally. In order to better adapt to market changes and improve operational efficiency, Jixing Technology has adjusted its organizational structure.During this period, the relevant rights and interests of the car owner will not be affected, and the vehicle-related services are normal. Relevant shareholders such as Jixing Automobile and Xingji Meizu will also continue to support the development of Jixing brand in China.

According to public information, Extreme Star Automobile announced in 2017 that it has independently become a high-performance luxury brand and was jointly built by Volvo and Geely Holdings. In February last year, Volvo announced plans to allocate 62.7% of its approximately 48% stake in Jixing to Geely Holding Group. After the reduction was completed, Volvo’s shareholding in Jixing dropped to 18%, and Geely Holding became Jixing’s largest shareholder.

At present, Jixing’s domestic automobile business is mainly operated by the joint venture company Jixing Technology. Blue Whale Automobile learned that last year, the Jixing Technology China headquarters project settled in Nanjing. According to the plan, this headquarters project integrates the entire vehicle sales, operation and management center of Jixing Automobile China, the development and operation of intelligent networked vehicle systems, and the research and development and sales of Jixing brand mobile phones and AR smart glasses.

Behind Jixing Technology, many multinational car companies have recently announced layoffs. Among them, Nissan announced that it will cut about 9000 employees worldwide and cut global production capacity in fiscal year 2026 from 5 million to 4 million; Mercedes-Benz has previously been exposed to global layoffs plans or as many as 20,000 people.
