GuShiio.com Technical Monthly Report: Pectra Test Network Activation, Lightning Network Zero Knowledge Gossip, BNBChain Roadmap, etc.

Compile | GaryMa GuShiio.com block chain
The GuShiio.com team summarizes key developments in the February blockchain technology area:
Bitcoin
& Zero-knowledge gossip of middot; Lightning Network Channel announcement: it has recently been proposed to improve the way of channel announcement, using & ldquo; Zero knowledge gossip & rdquo; (a privacy protection technology) to let other nodes verify whether the channel is valid (funded) without revealing details. This prevents malicious attacks while protecting users’ privacy.
& middot; Erlay protocol update: Erlay is a new method designed to reduce the bandwidth (data traffic) required for transaction propagation in bitcoin networks. The research shows that by adjusting & ldquo;fanout” (broadcast transaction) and & ldquo; collection coordination & rdquo; (efficient data synchronization), 35% of the bandwidth can be saved, but it may increase the delay of transaction propagation (a little longer).
& middot; analog OP_RAND opcode: Bitcoin currently does not directly support random number operations (OP_RAND), but someone has proposed a way for two users to sign a random payment contract through special technology (who wins and who gets the money) without revealing privacy. This method is more flexible and can be used for small or complex transactions.
& middot; chooses transactions with certainty from committed memory pools: it has been suggested that miners publicly commit to transactions in their memory pools and then only choose transactions to be packaged into blocks according to fixed rules. This can reduce the risk that miners choose to trade at will, especially for large corporate miners or decentralized pools.
& middot; Lightning Network quality of Service Mark discussion: Mark high availability (HA) channel, promise 100% forwarding success, and penalize operators not to use this channel if they fail. Some people worry that this will make software rely on HA channels, trust liquidity for large nodes, and expensive JIT adjustment for small nodes will either lose money or be unpopular.

The Pectra upgrade of middot; ethernet was activated on the Holesky test network at 21:55 on February 24th. However, because some EL clients made errors in configuring the deposit contract address, especially the specific address of the Holesky test network was not correctly adapted, most verifiers mistakenly proved an invalid chain (justified but not finalized), breaking the consensus mechanism of the network and failing to reach finality. However, this problem is limited to the Holesky test network, and the configuration is different from the main network, other test network or development network. For the follow-up processing of Holesky, it is recommended that developers update to the client version of fixed bug and resynchronize the execution layer (EL) and consensus layer (CL) nodes. If users have the verifier’s slashing database (to prevent double signatures), they need to delete it to avoid further problems. The goal is to enable the Holesky network to recover from chaos and achieve finality, which requires the cooperation of the community and developers. A more detailed solution will be discussed later at the ACD (All Core Devs) meeting.
& the middot; Sepolia test network may be upgraded by Pectra on March 5. If the test network is smooth, the upgrade will be carried out on the main network on April 8.
& middot; Fusaka upgrade (upgrade after Pectra): make sure to lock the Fusaka range on April 10.
& middot; Vitalik TAKO AMA: explore ETH positioning, sequencer centralization challenges, L1 vs L2, Foundation governance philosophy, ethernet breakthrough methodology, ethernet success metrics. Https://app.tako.so/user/5650
& the middot; Ethernet Square Foundation announced the launch of Open Intents Framework, a modular, open framework designed to promote cross-chain interoperability, support more than 30 teams to work together, simplify the process in which any chain is intended to communicate to users, and improve the cross-chain user experience. The framework solves key components such as solutions and settlement in a modular manner, providing flexibility that allows developers to choose the most appropriate parts according to their needs without relying on a single vendor.
& middot; BEAM Chain proposal Progress: due to too many conflicts of the same name, BEAM needs to be renamed, confirming that up to 14 teams are involved in Beam client development.
& the main network of middot; Unichain has been officially launched, and nearly 100 encryption protocols have been installed.
& following the middot; Bybit Safe wallet theft incident: the device of the Safe developer was invaded, causing malicious code to be injected into the front end, and the attack intercepted and modified the transaction parameters. After quick verification, it is found that there is malicious code behind the js file at the front end of Safe, and the related address (0xbdd077f651ebe7f7b3ce16fe5f2b025be2969516) involves the malicious execution of contracts that swept away 1.5 billion of ByBit’s assets.
Solana
& middot; Solana’s SIMD-0228 proposal is now open and is about to enter the chain of validators’ vote, which aims to shift the SOL release to a market-driven model. The proposal, submitted by Multicoin Capital’s Tushar Jain, sets a target pledge rate of 50 per cent to enhance network security and decentralization. If more than 50 per cent of SOL is pledged, issuance will decrease, thereby discouraging further pledge by lowering yields; if less than 50 per cent of SOL is pledged, issuance will increase to raise yields and encourage pledge. The minimum inflation rate will be 0%, while the maximum inflation rate will be based on the current Solana issuance curve.
& middot; Solana’s SIMD-0096 proposal has been activated on the main network to change the transaction priority cost (priority fees) from the original 50% burning, 50% reward verifier mode to 100% reward to verifier.
Base
& the Gas Target of middot; block has been increased to 27 Mgas/s. It is understood that in September last year, Base set a target of 1 Ggas/s (that is, 1000 Mgas/s) of capacity expansion, and plans to gradually expand at the rate of 1 Mgas/s per week. By increasing the Gas Target of the block, the network can accommodate more transactions at the same time, thus relatively restraining the increase in transaction costs when demand rises. Unlike the maximum Gas Limit of each block, Gas Target can temporarily exceed Target (resulting in increased costs), but not more than Limit, which has a hard upper limit on block size.
BNB Chain
& middot; BNB Chain released the 2025 technology roadmap, which disclosed that BNB Chain’s goal is to reduce transaction latency by reducing block time from three seconds to subseconds, while maintaining high network throughput and being able to handle 100 million transactions per day. In 2025, BNB Chain will continue to work with the community to accelerate the promotion of artificial intelligence with BSC and Greenfield, and will continue to optimize and integrate developer tools, including:
& middot; ‘s streamlined SDK and API: classify and improve accessibility of basic blockchain development resources.
& middot; BNB Chain AI Code Copilot: introduce AI-driven development tools to help builders code and debug efficiently.
SUI
& the middot; Sui Foundation announced the launch of the Sui NS program, which aims to promote influential development and to strengthen community cooperation and promote ecological development by directly funding projects that meet the ecological needs of Sui and Sui NS growth. At present, the application channel for the SuiNS RFP program is open, developers can submit their proposals, and the selected developers must sign a funding agreement outlining the milestones, deliverables and schedule of the project, and develop as planned. In addition, in order to maintain transparency and accountability, selected developers must go through the authentication process. The RFP (Request for Proposals,RFP) program aims to accelerate ecological innovation in Sui, with each RFP defining a specific area of concern that encourages developers to propose solutions and use funding to build them.
& Adeniyi, founder of middot; Mysten Labs, announced that Sui will launch a private communication feature on the chain, through Walrus and SuiNS, users can contact anyone with complete privacy using video, audio or text.
Near
& middot; Near officially tweeted that a block time of 400ms is coming soon, stressing that this will make AI run faster than ever before.
& middot; introduces OmniBridge, a next-generation cross-chain infrastructure that connects NEAR to other blockchains. Functions include allowing tokens to start in the form of NEAR LP pairs on any chain, creating a standard path for token flow, and so on.
& middot; launched Shade Agents, an intelligent contract driven by multi-chain AI, which is completely verified on the chain and is designed to eliminate a single point of failure.
& middot; introduces the upcoming FROST, a multi-party computing protocol that will support non-EVM chains (such as Solana, TON, Stellar) to access NEAR’s Chain Abstraction technology stack.
& middot; introduces & ldquo;Proof of Response” (PoR), a new technical primitive developed by NEAR AI to ensure activity and responsiveness in decentralized systems such as blockchain networks and AI proxy networks. PoR ensures node response by encrypting the transport layer (similar to TCP/IP) and motivates nodes to provide high-quality service through payment channels. Application scenarios include AI agent, AI reasoning, decentralized storage data retrieval, ZK certification network and VPN.
& middot; introduced AITP (Agent Interaction and Transaction Protocol), & ldquo; Agent interaction and transaction Protocol & rdquo;, issued by NEAR AI, is designed to provide a standardized protocol for AI agents to securely communicate, exchange data, and trade across trust boundaries (including legal and cryptocurrency). The goal of AITP is to support multi-agent collaboration (such as user assistants interacting with third-party agents) and to achieve a transparent ecosystem through blockchain payments such as payment systems on NEAR.
Avalanche
& the middot; Avalanche Foundation announced that the Avalanche Visa card has been launched, which enables users to consume their Avalanche tokens (AVAX), packaged AVAX, and stable coins USDT and USDC in any store that accepts Visa. The card is developed in cooperation with Rain, a card issuing platform based on block chain. Previously, the Avalanche Foundation said the card focused on attracting users in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Sonic
& middot; SonicLabs Co-founded Andre Cronje released Sonic Ecological Development Vision this year, focusing on: 90% of Gas fees are owned by applications, reducing verifier and MEV benefits; subsidizing Gas fees to reduce users’ barriers to entry; supporting the application of custom Gas rates; and realizing native account abstraction to eliminate wallet and Gas dependence. The core goal of the program is to lower the threshold for user experience while increasing the income of application developers.
& middot; introduction & ldquo; one-click verifier deployment & rdquo; function, launched in partnership with @ GoogleCloud and @ BCW_llc. Features include setting up without code, earning rewards, and ensuring Sonic network security.
Hyperliquid
& middot; HyperEVM has been officially launched. The initial major network release of HyperEVM includes: HyperEVM blocks built as part of L1 implementation, inheriting all security from the HyperBFT consensus; instant transfer between native spot HYPE and HyperEVM HYPE, where HYPE is the native gas token on HyperEVM; and a standard WHYPE system contract deployed on 0x555 WHYPE helliptic 5 for DeFi applications. In future network upgrades, generic ERC20 native transfer and precompilation will be enabled. Although these functions have been implemented on the test network, the release of the main network is carried out in stages to minimize the impact on existing users on L1. HyperEVM can be combined with L1 status without affecting the low-latency transaction experience of existing users.
Berachain
& middot; February 6, Berachain main online.
& middot; announced the launch of Governance Phase 1 (Governance Phase 1). The team can submit RFRVs (request award vote) according to the guide, support BEX or non-BEX/ general intelligent contract pool, and encourage feedback in specified forums.
& middot; announced the launch of @ PolarisOnBera, the first fully autonomous Star of the Sky Agent framework, using the $7.5 billion USDS of the Sky ecosystem to inject capital into the Berachain ecosystem, combined with the PoL mechanism.
