A new battlefield for full-chain games: Decoding the “gravitational field effect” of Initia

Why did they all go to Initia?

Author: Gink5814.eth

I still vividly remember the scene of Stokarz’s verbal battle with scholars last night, and I can finally talk about the full-chain game I am good at. As I have repeatedly emphasized in previous articles, the liquidity trend of the bull market cycle is traceable: starting with Zoo memo coins, to celebrity coins, to less liquid ERC-20 tokens such as Friend.tech, then NFT and pledge, and finally Gamefi.

In the past year, I have witnessed the transformation of many teams. But it’s the way we make games that makes full-chain games truly an independent track–a unique game design paradigm. This reminds me of 2018, when many of the DeFi founders turned to CeFi in 2019, or started a hybrid model, claiming to build a new financial technology company or crypto CeFi company.

The rise of full-chain games is a bit like DeFi’s infancy. Everyone is groping. Some teams stick to their original aspirations, while others choose a more pragmatic path. But no matter what, FOCG has become a track that cannot be ignored. @arbitrum @Starknet and these old chains, plus @megaeth_labs . Rookies such as @ intia and @SoniSVM are all setting the stage for full-chain games. As for those application chains, such as @HappyChainDevs,@B3dotfun, and @redstonexyz, they are more like supporting roles on the stage. Although there are not many scenes, they are also indispensable.

However, there are more than half of these chains, and it is difficult for me to see their actual value. They are more like another computer room. When you put most of your computing offline, you lose decentralized economy, liquidity, and even interoperability and composability. Of course, some people will say that these are not important because not many people play games. But as the bull market progresses, Play-to-Earn will emerge again, and interoperability and composability are the cornerstones of mutual aid.

Developer friendliness, high performance and interoperability seem to have become the impossible triangle of FOCG. That’s right, no one who tried to achieve this before had any big results. For games, the performance and expansion of the chain are extremely important, so intia chose a modular multi-chain system such as L1+appchain L2+DA for its main architecture. In order to cope with and carry more users and traffic, mobility can achieve interoperability but network conditions do not affect each other independently and closely.

A system of many many rollups that can easily talk to each other

But now through @battleforblock and @kamigotchiworld’s practices on Initia, we see the hope that through intertwined Rollups, shared in-game marketplaces and interwoven rollups, and the real use we give to these in-game items. Those who have persisted the longest and still played on-chain games generally convey the same value proposition: without this technology, we cannot achieve the open economy we need. Of course, you can be skeptical and think that players don’t really care about this. So why not just publish it on Epic or Steam and compete in the Web2 space? There is a huge standard player base there.

EVE, the most popular Web2 game, also wants to make a full-chain game

The reason why Initia attracted my attention was born with a halal aura (I hate the word, but I have to say it’s a good meme) MegaETH is different from @biomesAW because the games mentioned above have been migrated to Initia.

Kamagotchi’s team is really one of my favorites. The only time we met offline was at ETHCC Brussels last year. After chatting, we felt that they had the secret to success.

@0xl3th3AW’s first mushroom spray has expressed many insights on lattice.@ jb0x_Korean American, we asked me if I wanted to order the first time we met.@?0xstellate can also be seen from Twitter as a girl with aesthetic taste. There is also a community manager, Defi OG from the OHM era. I think many people ignore that game producers are different from contract engineers. Making games is an art and expression of oneself. They are a team with something they want to express and have their own understanding of playbooks. For the first time in history, I heard an accurate DAU number from Lethe’s mouth, 5000. Their logic is also very reasonable. A small exchange only needs 500 contracts to make money by betting on dogs. Only 500 games are needed for a game, and with 4500 accompanying games, it will last forever.

@0xCitadel and Battle For Block are also good comrades who have stayed on the front line for more than two years. Citadel is 1kx peterpan’s largest FOCG position. In 2023, it raised US$3.3 million in seed round financing, led by 1kx, with Shima Capital, Hashed, Matchbox DAO, Ready DAO Player and several angel investors participating. Peterpan actually let them go to initia instead of abstract. And they once promised to release 100% of the tokens to the community. This is a good start. Even if VC invests in, it must be fair. Everyone plays games together to find tokens. Their economic designer is from EVE online. I also interviewed them with team call last year. From @rhascau on ARB Nova to now BFB, Stokarz and his @minters have also spent half their lives and finally chose Initia, which shows that Initia’s ecology and BD team are really strong. But specifically why does everyone go to Initia? Why is it so charming?@ Stokarz and his @minters also chose Initia after wandering for half their lives, which shows that Initia’s ecology and BD team are really strong. Broken technical architecture-solves sharding to a certain extent

  • Supports the architecture design of multiple VMs (EVM, MoveVM, WasmVM), allowing developers to choose the most suitable development environment

  • The processing power of 20Mgas per block and the block output speed of 250ms are enough to support complex game logic

  • Achieve scalability of 140Mgas/second through Rollup technology, providing sufficient computing power for large games

Innovative interoperability solutions-

  • Achieve seamless interaction between assets and data across chains through IBC+Celestia DA

  • Support interoperability of inter-game items and achieve a true shared in-game market

  • Projects such as BFB and Kami have demonstrated the possibility of cross-game asset interoperability on Initia

maximize economic benefits

  • Gas costs are reduced by 90%, significantly reducing game operating costs

  • Reasonable valuation (financing valuation of US$350 million) provides greater room for growth for ecological projects

In addition to the reasonable valuation (Starknet 8 billion), these characteristics are actually not enough to become a strong selling point today when the chain is modularized. I personally think that the VIP (Vested Interest Program) mechanism ensures that game developers can obtain direct benefits from the agreement revenue is the key.

When I saw the VIP mechanism, I realized that it was a market-oriented incubation and accelerator mechanism, compared to OP superchain. Move-based Inititia L1 allows apps to freely roll up EVM/Wasm/Move-based interwoven rolls. When we were doing token economics design for a certain project last year, we created the so-called three-body problem based on the number of transactions on the chain, transaction volume and TVL, allowing users to vote with their feet and choose the Dapp they support. Initia is more direct, LUNA tastes very right, I only want TVL, and the allocation of esINIT to interwoven rolls with high TVL will be more.

With the blessing of initia-vip, there is double p2e, rewards for the game item itself +vip rewards, and even if the game itself does not have tokens and rewards, users/players can still complete their kpi while playing and enjoying the game. You can still get init incentives from initia-vip, which is more competitive for other pure game app projects or other L1/L2 specialized in making games.

For users, in order to have more TVLs and receive more esINIT, minitia will also share its incentives with users who provide TVLs. From the perspective of doing a project, if your product cannot get the most basic bribery agreement per person, it means that your product does not provide any additional value and is just an empty shell. Go ahead and adjust its direction as soon as possible. From the perspective of Initia itself, this can better test the market response and actual effect of interwoven rolls, carry out targeted incubation and acceleration, and prosper the entire ecosystem.
