Zhang Chenguang, then general manager of the Tianjin City Branch of China Orient Asset Management Co., Ltd., was banned from working in the banking industry for five years due to inaccurate asset risk classification, illegal provision of financing in the name of additional investment, and inadequate rectification of problems discovered in external review.
The State Financial Supervision and Administration’s supervision of financial asset management companies (AMC) in 2024 shows a high-pressure situation. The latest regulatory data shows that as of now, the State Administration and local branches have issued a total of 29 administrative penalty decisions to AMC institutions, involving 62 violations, and the total amount of fines has reached more than 35.7 million yuan, which not only exceeds the total amount of penalties for the whole year of last year, but also sets a new high in regulatory penalties in the past five years.
