Coinbase files application asking the SEC to disclose four-year crypto enforcement spending

Coinbase filed an information disclosure request with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), requesting disclosure of the agency’s total spending on crypto enforcement over the past four years, the list of companies involved, the number of employees responsible for the case, and relevant financial information. Paul Grewal, chief legal officer of Coinbase, said the request was intended to increase transparency and not retaliate against the SEC for past enforcement actions. Although the SEC’s stance has reversed after the U.S. government change and some cases have been dropped, Coinbase still hopes to calculate enforcement costs to promote a more reasonable regulatory framework in the future.(CoinDesk)
