The British government requires Apple to set up a “back door” to obtain user cloud data

According to the Washington Post, the British Home Office has issued a Technical Capability Notice to Apple requesting it to provide users with access to encrypted data. British security officials have asked Apple to set up backdoors to allow the British government to access all content uploaded to the cloud by Apple users. Apple may choose to stop providing encrypted storage services in the UK rather than violate its security commitments to users around the world. Apple has not yet commented on the news; the UK Home Office has not responded to this.
