On January 16 and February 12, the Guangdong Financial Office issued an announcement agreeing to cancel the pilot qualifications of six small loan companies, including Chaoan District Rongxin Microloan Co., Ltd. of Chaozhou City and Baoyin Microloan Co., Ltd. of Qujiang District of Shaoguan City.
On January 9, the Guangxi Financial Office approved the termination of the microfinance business license of Beihai City Weiliande Microloan Co., Ltd. and cancelled its “Microloan Company Business License.”
In recent years, with problems such as stricter supervision and intensified competition in the small loan industry, small loan companies have continued to liquidate. Data shows that as of the end of December 2024, there were 5257 microfinance companies across the country, with a loan balance of 753.3 billion yuan.
