Blue Whale News, February 11 (Reporter Zhang Jinglun)On February 11, according to the official website of the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office, Hangzhou Wahaha Group Co., Ltd. is transferring the Wahaha trademark. At present, the application and receipt process has ended. The application date is January 21, 2025, and the trademark transfer entity is not displayed.

The Blue Whale News reporter verified the matter with relevant personnel of Wahaha Group, and the other party responded that the company was conducting internal communication on the matter.

According to public information, Wahaha Group registered the first Wahaha trademark in 1988. At present, Wahaha Group has registered 96 Wahaha trademarks, and Wahaha’s Chinese all-round version WA HA HA has also registered 146 trademarks, mainly in beverages, food, convenience food and other categories.

It is reported that the approved goods/services for the 10th Class Wahaha trademark transferred this time are: medical devices and instruments; dental equipment and instruments; physiotherapy equipment; medical sanitary masks; milk bottles, etc. The exclusive right period of this trademark is from August 2023. From August 7 to August 6, 2033.

At the beginning of 2024, Zong Qinghou, founder and chairman of Wahaha Group, passed away due to illness. His daughter Zong Fuli officially took over the post and assumed the positions of legal representative, chairman and general manager of the company, which means that she achieved a full takeover of Wahaha Group.

After taking charge of Wahaha, Zong Fuli took a number of reform measures. For example, breaking the previous big pot model, it emphasizes that employee dividends will be based on individual job performance rather than seniority or level; and increasing investment in offline channels, especially the placement of freezers.

But the packaged drinking water track where Wahaha is located is highly competitive. Since the death of Zong Qinghou, Wahaha bottled water sales have soared. In April last year, Nongfu Spring, the oldest bottled water brother, immediately made a move to launch green bottled purified water and sell it at a price of less than 1 yuan/bottle. The price war for packaged drinking water immediately began, from the original 2-3 yuan to about 1 yuan. At the end of November of the same year, Wahaha, which had been in the pure water market for many years, also resumed its mineral water business and distributed goods in KA hypermarkets.
